The Roby Lions defeated the
Aspermont Hornets, 169V2-148,
lor the District 80-B track and
field title on the rain-drenched
McMurry cinders Wednesday
afternoon.
But the Lions had to yield
high-point honors to Aspermont's
fabulous John Ray Godfrey, who
edged Roby's Jerry Burk, 33-31.
Burk was the only triple win-
ner, sweeping the hurdles, win-
ning the high jump and placing
sixth in the shot put.
However, Godrrey won the
440-yard dash, ran legs on both
winning Hornet relays, finished
second in the broad jump and
wound up in a four-way tie for
second in the high jump.
Divide's Thomas Hyde won the
100, tied for first in the pole
vault, finished second in the 220-
yard dash and ran on a third-
place relay team for 30 points.
Phil Wright was Highland's
top individual, winning the
broad jump, taking second in
the 440, tying with Godfrey in

April 17-20 in "Four Nights For
God", the spring revival of the
First Methodist Church of As-

start at 7:30. Special music is to
be a part of each service. The

recreation at the conclusion of

Mrs. M. L. Dool, 84, a resident j
of Stonewall County since 1889,
died April 4, at 4:50 p. m. in
Shannon Hamlin Memorial Hospital after

County, she came' here 11 years
later and married M. L. Dool in
July of 1896. He died in October
of 1959. Mr. Dool was a stock
farmer and one time county
commissioner.
Funeral was held at 3 p.m.

ister, officiating. Burial in Mt.
Olive Cemetery north of Asper-
mont was directed by Young
Funeral Home.

4-H Talent Show

Over 500 parents, 4-H youths,
and spectators were on h|nd§for
the Annual 4-H Talent SlSow,
held on Aprii 2nd. Some 123 4-if
boys and girls were entered in
the contest, which was judged
by Home Demonstration Agents
from Kent and Dickens Coun-
ties, Mrs. Agnes ...Marrs and Miss
Doyiene Morgaif. ■

free trips to Camp were: Grade

and Acts Division. Group: (Moy-
