to the new building to exa-
mine the vinyl title floors.
After Bloxom returned to
the meeting, Mr. Hicks
made the motion to accept
the new building and Mr.
Bean seconded the motion

the motion the two mem-
bers withdrew the motion

the Board agreed that this
motion would indicate that
the A1SD Board approved
the work done by the archi-
tect.
The Board voted to offer
the architect the agree-
ment of retaining $3,500 of
his fee until the items listed
in a July 17th letter from
Superintendent Bob Bre-
zina are resolved between
the A1SD Board and the
architect and that when the
architect has accepted
these terms in writing, the
remaining $3,700 should be
paid. A time limit for nego-
tiations with the architect
was set at six weeks
Board members also
voted unanimously to finish
the roads and parking area
at the new building with
one and half inches of sand
and oil topping and to cut
the grade to three inches.
The board also voted to
allow Mr. Brezina to
comply with all recruiting
conditions imposed by the
Department of Health,
Education and Welfare.

cate of Substantial Comple-
tion for the new Alto
Junior-Senior High School
during a special meeting at
6:30 p.m. Monday, July 24
in the Elementary School
Library.

Board voted to accept the
completion from Speed
Fab-Crete Corporation
provided that they offer
assurance in writing that
Speed Fab-Crete will
guarantee that any vinyl
title flooring that does not
remain adhered will be
replaced at no cost to the
Alto School District for a
period of 12 months. Board
members Kenneth Collins,
William T. Warner, Leo
Hicks, Gary Dominey and
John A. Bean voted for the
motion with members Mrs

unit to work longer, cost
more to operate. Set
thermostat for moderate
temperature and leave it.
6. Replace or clean filter
frequently. Clogged filters
increase operating costs.
7. Cover windows to keep
direct sunlight from inside
the house.
8. Close fireplace flue to
prevent cool air from being
pulled up chimney.
9. When possible, use
appliances (washer, dryer,
oven, etc.) in cool of day to
avoid excess heat build up
in house.
10. Keep outdoor portion of
unit free of obstructions
which might prevent a free
airflow around it.
11. Removing hot air from attic
with ventilating fan helps
lower air conditioning needs.
12. Plant trees and shrubbery to
protect house from outdoor
neat.

Music and Education at the
First Baptist Church of
Alto, according to the pas
tor, the Rev. Gene Ken-
drick.
Wieser has been in his
new position for two weeks
and basically sees his mini-
stry here as one of educa-
tion “1 hope to strengthen
the Sunday School
teachers’ training and
work with the youth," says
the new Minister of Music
and Education.
He will also be directing
the adult choir and has
plans to begin a youth choir
program in the fall
Wieser grew up in West
Texas and did his under-
graduate work at Stephen
F Austin State University
He completed his education
at the Southwest Baptist
Theological Seminary.
The new Alto resident is
married and he and his
wife, July, have an 18

charged with running a red
light and leaving the scene
of an accident following a
two vehicle collision at 1
a m. Sunday at the red
light intersection of High-
way 69 and Texas 21.
Albino Garcies of Hous-
ton has been filed on for the
charges by Alto Chief of
Police Bobby Germany
Garcies was traveling
north on U.S. 69 when he
ran the red light and struck
a 1978 Cherolet pickup
driven by Tommy Lee Sel-
man of Alto.
Garcies left the scene of
the accident and continued
north on U.S. 69 where he
was stopped by some local
teenage boys who had seen
the accident. The Houston
man was driving a 1976
Ford Granada and was
