The Family History Department of
the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-Day Saints announced the
shipment of a new update to the
International Genealogical Index
(IGI). The new addition adds 43
million records to the IGI, for a total of
283 million records. The new update
was scheduled to ship in February and
is expected to be available at all local
Family History Centers in March for
