Good Itcvads For
Roberts County
Last Saturday. Roberts county
citizens went to the polls, and
not to be outdone by their neigh-
bors on the East, put over a
$300,000 road bond issue by a
large majority. Of the bonds to
be issued. SK55.000. will be spent
for paving Highway 83. This
sum is to be matched by the
state and federal governments.
The remainder of the $300,000
will be used for straightening
and improving the county roads.
Roberts County citizens did well.
By their action, another link in
a ribbon of paved road across
the Texas Panhandle is assured.
Lipscomb County goes to the
polls June 17, to determine
whether or not Highway 33, is
to be paved from the Hemphill
County line to the Oklahoma line.
Those who have studied the at-
titude of the people residing in
the Higgins precinct predict, the
bond issue v. ill carry.
