, Financially speaking there aw
two classes, of farmers, those1 in.
dfebt and thos<> out of debt. The
man out, of debt has a chance to
get aheadi; the man in debt has a
chance to pay up. • ,
Being out of debt does not make
a man a successful farmer; 'but the
man W|h,o operates on a cash basis
and who ewes no' one cannot, be,
called a (failure. He niay live closie
and simple! but at, least he lives
contientedly. , ,
' The manner in which farmers
get out. of debt, and stay out of
debt has often been told. The pro-
cess involves no1 secret. They first,
of all raise the food: that is put
on the, ta'ble three times a day.
Feed for all the stock is raised, as
■a'matter'df course.
But the raising of the food and
feed is not quite needed to keep
■ on a cash basis, although most,
borrowed money is used to pur-
chase those things. The cash in-
come from,a ,few cows, a flock of
hens, a truck crop or two and
perhaps a Titter oil' pigs keeps the
■cash' coming in that' meets the
farm and family bills.
1 Sin h a simple plan enables a
nan and w.MV to u'se money ,from
the',many crops and-livestock to
■get. ahead and' stay ahead. It is
the Yt iy that ienters bccome home
owners it it the 'road 'to satisfac-
tion and i on*fort, on the farm.
