George Allent a highly re-
spected citizen of Burleson pass-
ed away Saturday, October 17.
Mr. Allen was born in this com-
munity Jan. 28, 1894, being 87
years of ege, and spent his life
here, He was well known and
highly esteemed. The commun-
ity is deeply grieved to lose this
good man in the prime of life.
He leaves a mother Mrs- W. R.
Allen, his devoted wife and two
daughters, and the following sis-
ters and brothers, John Allen of
Fort Worth, C. A, Allen, not lo-
cated in time for the funeral,
Mesdames J. E. Summerlin and

Ernest Potter of Blackwell,
Okla, spent a few days here the
oast week with his slater, Mrs

Chills that tickle your spine
with fingers of ice; thrills that
make your heart jump like a
Mexican jumping bean; a story
packed with suspente; use of the
camera that by ths magic of il-
lusion makes the spectator think
he is participating in the solution
of a baffling crime; and half a
dozen of the best performances
seen this season— they’re ail in
"The Spider", which ttft R K O
Hollywood theatre, Fort Worth,
will present starting Saturday of
this week to delight Fort Worth
audience?.
’ The Spider" tells of a broth-
er
honest uncle who wants to se-
cure their inheritance for him
self. While attending a theatre
with this uncle, the sister sees
her brother assisting a magician
in his act. The uncle attempts to
prevent their reunion; the lights
go out; a shot is fired and the
panic is on.
Edmund Lowe as the magician
is a cut above anything he has
done before. Lois Moran, show-
ing tiie beneficial effects of her
recent stage experience, is very
appealing as the sister. George
E. Stone gets in some telling
work. El Brendel is most amus-
ing and the balance of the cast
gives an all-round good perform-
ance.
“Homicide Squad” Wednesday
Starting Wednesday of next
week, the RKO Hollywood pre
sents "Homicide Squad", the
picture featuring Leo Carillo
which has caused such wide-
spread comment in the East.
