1 would like to begin by extending “hello” from the Swisher County
Emergency Management Office A brief introduction of myself to assist
as we move forward together in our emergency management My name
is Burnie D Wells I have been given the privilege of working with the
county and its cities as the County 1 mergency Management Coordinator
in planning and coordinating actions to avert future emergencies
A fella from Happy. I graduated a tew years ago. completed a career
in the U S Arm... a second career as a law enforcement officer from
Georgia and Texas, and am now working with the great folks of Swisher
county I he nature of this position is not new to me. having worked in
both careers planning, managing and coordinating many emergency ac-
tions and events in the past I can say with confidence that I come to the
county well prepared to work with you
As a means of presenting thoughts to the county. 1 have been provided
a place in the Swisher C ounty News to bring these and planning activities

Tulia Hornet and I adv Hornet
cross country teams, along with
7 Tulia Junior High cross coun-
try runners and Mr Phil /olman.
Assistant High School Principal
traveled to 1 ubbock to compete
in the Red Raider Road Race on
the Texas Tech C ampus Of the 18
runners participating we brought
home J1 medals Medals were
awarded according to age group,
both male and female Running
the 5K in the 13 to 15 age group
Mantza Hernandez. 1st and 29th
overall. Madison Hoelting. 4th
and 56th overall, and Desiree Sub-
ealdea was 5th and 59th overall
In the 16 to 19 age group. Mattie
Turner was 14th and 115th over-
all, and Cynthia Rosales was 15th
