CENTER OF POPULATION, TEXAS AND U. S.
The center of gravity of population in Texas ac-
cording to the census of 1920 was in the south cen-
tral part of McLennan County, about ten miles
southwest of Waco. The center of population of
the United States in 1920 was 1.9 miles west of
Whitehall, Owen County, Ind.
GEOGRAPHIC CENTER, TEXAS AND U. S.
The geographic center of Texas is in McCulloch
County, ten miles northeast of Brady. The geo-
graphic center of the United States is ten miles
north of Smith Center, Smith County, Kan.
