CITIES, TOWNS AND
VILLAGES IN TEXAS.
There are in Texas about 2.350
places having postofflces. (The
number changes constantly.) The
total number of commercial cen-
ters, including everything from
the large cities down to the
cross roads general store centers,
is about 2,800. About 500 places
are incorporated. The census of
1920 gave 1.512.689 as the total
urban population of Texas, but
this had reference only to that
part of the population living-
within the corporate limits of
places of 2.500 population or
more. Living within the cor-
porate limits of towns of less
than 2.500 population were 363 -
008. Living in the unincorporat*
ed places were an estimated 300.-
000 additional persons.Postoffice-County. Pop.
