That is what it means to be a part of the body of Christ (a local church).
Paul reminds us in Romans 12:4,5, “For as we have many members in
one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being
many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another."
The Good News for you today is that you can be a part of the body of
Christ that meets in one of our local churches. Through a personal rela-
tionship with God through His Son Jesus, you can have such a caring,
loving church family. Christianity is not a solo sport. We must lift one
another up, encouraging one another in the Lord.
The gun sounded and they all started out, not exactly in a dash, but with
a strong desire to run the race to the finish and win.
One girl with Down’s Syndrome bent down and kissed him and said,
“This will make it belter." Then all nine of them linked arms and walked
together to the finish line.
Everyone in the stands stood, and the cheering went on for 10 minutes or
so.

Perhaps you remember reading a few years ago about the Special
Olympics that was held in Seattle, Wash. There were nine contestants, all
physically or mentally disabled who had assembled at the starting line for
the 100-yard dash.
All, that is, except one boy who stumbled on the asphalt, tumbled over a
couple of times, and began to cry. The other eight heard his cry. They
slowed down, paused, and looked back. Then one-by-one they turned
around and went back. Every one of them!
