FRED W. ADAM S AUSTIN - TEXAS April 2, 1953 Hon. Truett Latimer House of Representatives Austin, Texas Dear Mr. Latimer: We do a lot of business in your district and wish to call your attention to a Bill in the House that can save money for every one of your constituents. It is the Workman's Compensation #261. Our injured workmen are not getting as much compensation as workmen in other states which have a good law. And the Texas law now costs the employers up to 500% more in rates which you know must be added to the consumers price for whatever they buy or build. I realize that a group of claim lawyers are doing all in their power to sidetrack and defeat this bill, but I am sure you will not let the personal gain of a few men stand in the way of giving all Texas workmen the compensation they deserve; and all employers a just rate which results directly in lower prices to all consumers. We appreciate your fine work in trying to serve the people of Texas. Any time we can be of help, please call on us. Respectfully FWA:ECN
