Southwestern Historical Quarterly
Clayton Garwood, has made available all materials in her possession
relating to her father's career, but these letters represent only a portion
of Clayton's correspondence. Therefore, in order to make this edition
as complete as possible, the editors are now engaged in an extensive
search for additional Clayton documents. Anyone who knows of the
location of such materials should contact Frederick J. Dobney, De-
partment of History, Rice University, Houston, Texas 7700oo.
The January issue of the Quarterly (p. 419) cited the Sam Bell
Maxey papers as being at the Maxey Home in Paris, Texas. Contributor
Herbert T. Hoover properly cited the place where he examined these
materials; however, the collection has since been transferred to the
Archives Division of the State Library, Austin.
