The George R. Bryan Scholarships in
Leadership and Business were awarded for the
first time during the April 1999 HSU Board of
Trustees meeting.
The scholarships honor the late Bob
Bryan, Trustee chairman, who died on October
8, 1998, after a lengthy illness.
The first recipient of the Bryan
Scholarship in Business, established by the
Bryan family is Melanie Standridge of Midland.
Corbett Boone of Stephenville is the initialrecipient of the Bryan Scholarship in Leadership,
established by the HSU Trustees. Mrs. Bob
(Mary) Bryan assisted Dr. Lanny Hall in making
the awards.
