quarantine receipts havo been
small. Prices wore higher Mon-
day but weak tho two following
days mid steady yesterday mid
today. Fat stuff both steors and
cows has shown greatest weak-
ness recently grass stuff boing
unchanged. Liberal cattlo re-
ceipts at all tho markets this
week havo takon all the snap out
of tho market particularly on
tho best grades or fed stuff. Hun
in Quarantine division today is
liberal at 82 loads. Easton it
Knox Jacksboro Tex. sold H00
steers 10-12 lbs. at $8.10 today.
Steer sales havo ranged this week
from $2.85 to $8 (10 and cows
from S2.20 to $2.05 with dinners
down to $1.85. Hulls sold from
S2.00 to$2.05. No calves havo
arrivod.
Sheep and lambs touched the
high point of the season this
week but havo weakoned 10 to 20
cents in last two days. Now Mex-
ico grass wethers brought $8.-10
and owes $8.25 and several
strings of foeding lambs sold at
$8.75. Fat lambs aro worth $5 to
$5.50 and fed yoarlings up to
$1.'10. Feoding yearlings bring
S8.25

lative to tho proposed tax levy
and appropriations and it was do-
cided to procure legal advice on
some points and hold another
mooting Monday afternoon .
Aldorinan Hail of tho commit-
tee on claims rocommendod that
Pat Conway bo allowed a reason-
able compensation for his ser-
vices as janitor for tho counoil
room.
Aldorinan Herriman prosontod
a petition from W. A. Cochran &
Son for permission to build a
woodon' gallery within the liro

The six year-old child of Hank
Davis of Sterling county died last
Monday. The little one wuh ap-
parently Hiill'ering with a cold
when a severe case of croup devel-
oped and within two hours if was
beyond human aid. The Press
extends sympathy to the bereaved
parents.
Sherwood Bugg aged 57 died
at his homo 15 miles north of
Water Valley last Wednesday
morning and "was buried at the
family burying ground Thursday
aftornoon. Mr. Bugg was a very
substantial stockman and lived
alone. Undertaker Miles wont
out with a casket Thursday morn-
ing and attended tho intorinont.
Tho infant of Mr and Mrs. G.
W. Holland of Christovnl died
Dec. 12.
Tho infant of Mr. and Mrs. It.
A. Lindomann died Dec. 10.

Sun Angolo has raised $500 with
which to employ an ovangelist to
carry tho Gosnel into the high-
ways and byways of West Texas.
Tho minister to follow the call-
ing has not been engagod ynt but
it is expected that one will begin
near the first of the year and that
he will reside in San" Angolo.
Mrs. Lee Holland came up
from Paint Pock Sunday for a
short visit to homo folks and on
a little shopping tour. Mr. mid
Mrs. Holland contomplato mov-
ing into a protty little homo of
their own pretty soon and their
many San Angolo frionds aro glad
thoy liko down there so woll and
aro doing so nicely. Mrs. Hoi-
land says sho is a regular reader
