trip to Sterling county where ho
had gone to buv horsed. lie
found grass m plentiful (up to
tho hubs in tho pastures) that he
couldn't get together with horse
owners on prices. However lie
happened in on tho Sterling City
anniversary barbecue which was
numerously attended and all had
n splendid time. There was
plenty to eat and drink (excep-
ting "Perunn" an' sich like
which ho didn't miss howovur)
good speaking and fine music by
tho local brass band. In fact
ho "got stuck" on tho country
and people the latter he says
tho finest lot in largo numbers
he has met onywhoro so it
wouldn't bo a surprise if ho quit
us down hero nnd moved to that
other "God's country." Coming
on down towards homo ho stopped
at Water Valley and took in tho
Woodmen's supper which too
was fino. IIo was also very much
taken with the Valley and peoplo
and spoke in glowing tonus of
Prof. Thomas and his excollont
school. Well there's nothing
small about San Angolo and wo
nro glad to learn that our neigh-
bors have thoir share of the good
things of earth.
