Not-with • standing the fact
that I have had numerous and
sundry so'icitations to make the
race for re-election to the office of
Tax Collector of this county, I
decided not to enter the race,
holding to my former announce-
ment,- tha* if elected, I would
only aok for the office for two
.terms, and as the voters have
honored me with two terms I now
atep down and out at tho expis -
lion of same. The duties of the
office having been more arduous
since the passage of the delin-
quent tax law of 1915, but l have
ro 8yslematized the work that
when my successor takes charge
of the office he will have delin-
quencies up to date in such shape
chat he will not have to go baok
to 18^5 rolls, as I oid upon the
passage of new law. Thanking
my friends, one.and all, for their
kindly support—thev will find rn**
in the future as in the past, re-
gardless of my vooation, as ready
to serve them as ever.
Respectfully,
