Old Settlers and Missouri Ex-Confederates.

July 24, 1882.--The joint Executive Committee of the Old Settlers and Ex-Confederate Missouri soldiers met persuant to adjournment.
On motion col. J. V. Cockrell was called to the chair, and W. A. Wells made secretary.
The following members of the joint committees were present: J. V. Cockrell, W. H. Trolinger, G. S. Staples, J. E. Adams, H. N. Tuck, Dorser, J. D. Woods, W. W. Wheat, J. R. Jeter, Dick Hopson, Granville Hunter.
Report Com. on speaking:--Col. Jno. T. Crisp, of Jackson county, Mo., Gen L. M. Lewis, of Waxahachie, Tex and J. Ditzler have responded, on the part of the Ex-confederates and will speak on the first day; others have been invited, but no response on the part of the old settlers. Ex-Gov. Throckmorton, W. B. Wright, Capt. J. M. Hurt and John W. Connelly.
Moved and seconded that as B.F. Christian's name was omitted from the last report by mistake, that he be appointed to deliver the valedictory address.
Report Com. on Grounds:--Water, seats, and eating stands have been satisfactorily made.
Report on Finance committee;--Report made by the chairman. He asked further time. The committee will meet on Wednesday Aug 2, and will then be ready to report.
Moved and seconded that a committee of five be appointed to solicit cooked meats to be conveyed by said committee to the grounds on the 10 and 11 of August and that they superintend its distribution.

All Ex-Confederates on their arrival at Sherman will report at the district court room in the city of Sherman, and there enroll their names as they stood on the company rolls Aug. 10th 1861. The committee adjourned to meet August 2nd 1882.

The above reunion comes off on the 10th and 11th of August next, and is a reunion of all Mo. Ex-Confederates, and Ex-Confederates from Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana who participated in the battle of Oak Hill, Mo., on the 10th day of August 1861. All who participated in that battle are most cordially invited to be present, enroll their names and become members of our association. By order of the committee.
