Minutes of Reunion
First Day Aug [abbr: August] 16th 1899 continued
Association met at 8 p.m.
music by the band
Speech by Ridley Dean Esqr. [abbr: Esquire] of Sherman
Speech by Reverend JOhn Conley of Fannin Co. [abbra: County] who delighted his hearers old and new settlers in reminiscent of the past for 1 1/2 hours.
Second Day Thursday August 17th 1899
Ex Confederate Day
From 9 to 10 a.m. services by Salvation Army - The Old Settler's camped on the groumd seemed to enjoy the entertainment.
Ex Confederate day opened -
By prayer by Chaplain of Mildred Lee Camp. [overstrike: Rev. Jno. S. Moon] J. M. Binkley acting in the absence of Dr. Moon. [abbr: Doctor, Reverend, Jonathan]
The Welcome address was delivered by Hon. Cecil H Smith of Sherman.
Response by F. N. Robertson of Denison
Speech by Rev. E. W. Alderson of Sherman
Basket Dinner.
The association met at 2 p.m.
Music by the band.
Oration by Dr. Jno. O. Scott of Sherman on Heroes of Milligans Bend.
Gov. [abbr: Govenor] Sayers having a few days before the Reunion sent his regrets, stating that he had called in all his engagements. Judge Kittrell of Houston was secured to fill his place on the program - and made a rinsing speech, for the Ex Confederates.
