their time eating chickens catch-

aie worse than they any where eko.
The other night two old gcntlmnen
cats JJdtoppad right under our
window and got into a dispute. It
was about two o'clock in the morn
ing just tho time when cats love
to quarrel. Ono of them was an
old spotted cat as ugly as sin and
lha other was an old yellow . cat.
Paid the spotted cat: ''IWn George
yasmngion iino ueorga iyasu-ing-lon."
Said tho other cat'. ''You're
a liar liar liar" Said the spotted
cat: "I'me George Wash-iug-ton
and I nover told . i lie." "Vou'ia a

low cat. They wore just getting
icady to fight when wo (dipped
around tho corner of llio house with
n bed i-lal and smote the old spot-
ted cat on tho snoot. That stopped
the trouble.
We used to have a cat that loved
to steal thing out of the suioka
house Hu had all he wanted to
eat but that didn't matter ho lik-
ed to steal and i-lcal ho would. The
smoke ho ise had a window uud the
window had a pine out and
tho cat would hack off tako a run-
ning shiot and jump thtough
the broken pane. Onco ini-ido ho
would fill up on ham sausages and
evcri thing good and rntioat
through tho window. One day. I
afti r finding a lino ham spoiled w o
decided to havo a littlo fun with
the cat and so gieased a barrel on
the inside and filled it about half
full of very strong bri'ic and set it
just under tho window on tho in-
side. In about an hour herd came
the old cat and sailed right in at
tlio window and of courts right in
to the bi inc. In a couplo ot hours
we went in and found him pickled
fu great shape.
