The most serious aspect of the miss-
ing Includes the homesteaders and
farmers In the bush for a distance of
100 miles east and 20 miles south of
whom absolutely nothing can be
learned for some time as searching
parties do not dare penetrate the still
smoking forests
Beaudette Spooner Graceton and
Pitt Minn have been wiped oft the
map by the forest fire The bodies oi
seventyfive settlers have been located
and it is thought the death rate among
the settlers will bo upwards of 300
Wagon loads ot human bodies are
being brought into the railroad sta
tton at Beaudette It Is reported that
many settlers crazed with grief nt
the loss of families and property are
roaming the woods and searching par-
ties are constantly going out looking
for the Injured tho dead and the de-
mented
The wall of fire is 100 feet high and
traveling at the rate of fifty mile

Pecans Begin to Fall
Caldwell Tex Pecans of which
there Is the largest crop for years are
now beginning to fall There are al-
so plenty of hickory nuts and walnuts
with a very light crop of persimmons
on the trees In this county People
are beginning to make trips to tho pe-
can and hickory trees for the nuts
and they uniformly report these nuts
to be abundant
Lost Mine Found
Bisbee Ariz Mexican officials at
Cananea have announced the re discov-
ery of tho old Santa reTeresa gold-
mine one of the few really lost
mines of the Southwest known to
have been worked by the Spaniards
more than a century ago nnd which
has been lost since 1810 Two skele-
tons were found at the bottom of the
shaft

Collegeport Tex A train consist-
ing of flvo Pullman sleepers arrived
Sunday in Collegeport over the new
Collegeport branch of the St Louis
Brownsville Mexico Railroad
which has Just been completed to this
