To Raise Road Tax
HalletBville Feb 9 The asso-
ciation which had charge of the
skating rink here hhs abandoned
the enterprise The floor which
had been laid in the opera house
for the use of the rink at quite an
exponas has been sold and is now
being taken up
Efforts will bo made by tha Com-
missioners Court at its noxt meet
ing to raise tho road ami bridge tax
of this county The present rate is
Co and the revenue produced there
from amounts to about 4000 avail
able for use in improving the road
This has been found altogether in-
sufficient The public roads of this
county need improving badly and
the increased tax if levied will bo
used for this purpose
