yard, manufacturing brick aid pli-
clng them in kilns ieady for burn-
ing. We are informed that Mr,.
Jackson baa a large number of hands
at work and has orders for all the
brick he can manufacture. He. has
on hand several contracts, for: the
erection of brick buildings,, and will
commence work as soon as the brick
can be burned.

Do not forget the memorial servi-
ces at the Union Church aud Ceme-
tsry on to-morrow. Last week we
wrote Tuesday for Thursday, in no-
ticing these services, but hope the
mistake did no harm.
On last Wednesday ' night and
Thursday we bad a regular, first
class norther. The faces of our peo-
- pie began to lengthen, and cowing
np vegetables. In oar gardens, was
lu order. Fortunately for formers
and gardeuers, the cold suap passed
off without our having frost ouough
to hurt vegetation.
