Mr. Arthur Owens thinks the
Sabtoak Country a great country.
He tolls us that he sowed patch
of about 35 acres in oats a year
ago last fall. He has harvested
ninety bushels to the acre and
pastured his stock two winters
without replanting. If that
isn’t going some, we give it up.

The play “The Wife’s Peril”
given at the Majestic under the
auspices of the Womans Club last
Friday night was one of the best

Miss Blanche Beck under whose
‘direction the play was given

trionic talent. Prof. E L. Mills,
the Englishman, was all right
too. Those who know the Prof,
as the dignified Pro^. of Mathe-
matics had to look twice before
they recognized him. Miss Lo-
rena Ware made a gay young
widow. Claude Sloan, as the.
young husband and Marcus Cow-
an, the villain of the play, cov-
ered themselves with glory and
little Miss Coma Titsworth was
perfect in her part. Floyd Ka-
natzer made a fine butler. The
ladies were well pleased with the
success of the play ard the large
attendance.
Miss Sadie Coleman returned
Saturday from Uvalde.
Mr. Riley Kelley was down
from Utopia last week.
Mrs. C. M. Neatherlin is on
the sick list this week.
Mr. W. W. Threadgill returned
Saturday from a trip to Uvalde.
Mr. S.W Wentworth of Utopia
was visiting in Sabinal the first
of the week.
Mrs. C. Dugat of Alpine arriv-
ed last Saturday on a visit to her
sister, Mrs. Lea Jones.
The Trustees have engaged
Miss Laura New to teach the
Mexican school next year.
Mrs. Marcus Donoho is down
from the ranch this week. Mr.
Donoho has been up the Frio for
cattle.
Mrs. A. E. Fenley returned
Tuesday from a visit in San An-
tonio and went up to her home
in Utopia.

Mr. Harold Reily went to San
Antonie yesterday evening to
meet his sister. Miss Mollie, who
has been attending T. C. U. at
Fort Worth.
Mr. and Mrs. Will Wofford will
stay at Mr. L. F. Heard’s during
the time Mrs. Heard is in Fort
Worth. They will keep house
and keep L. F. from getting lone-
some.
Mr. W. V. Smith returned
Wednesday from a trip to Tyler
and Dallas. He left Mrs. Smith
and the children with her parents
in Smith County to spend a few
weeks. Will reports a fine time.
Mr. and Mrs. RossR. Kennedy
gave a barbecue down at the
Malone Water Hole on Monday
in honor of Bro. Martin and Bro.
and Sister Watson, who were
here for the day. Mr. Tom Ad-
ams cooked the goat and needless
to say it tasted like more. All
present had a pleasant day.
