Thursday, Jan. 5, 1956: Funeral services will be held
Friday for James Oliver McClendon, a former Waxahachie
resident who died recently in. San Bernardino, Califor-
nia. Burial will be in the City Cemetery,.
Mrs. Violet Rigsby
Friday, Jan. 6, 1956: Mis Violet Rigsby, 83 years of
age, died January 5, 1956. Rev. E.W. Wells will hold
the service. Burial will be in Quannah, Texas. Mrs.
Rigsby was born February 9, 1872, in Woodville, Texas.1
For the past five years she has lived with her daughter
Mrs. C.D. Franklin, in Waxahachie. She is survived by
two other daughters, Mrs.' Beatrice Newsom of Denton,
Texas, and Mrs. Edna Leetah of Hamilton, Texas; three.
brothers:: RR.Rigsby of Canyon, Glen Rigsby of Dallas,
and Vernon Rigsby of Quannah; a sister, Mrs. Ophelia
Sessions of Azel; a half sister, Mrs. Ethel Campbell of
Saginaw; twenty-two grandchildren. and twenty-one great
grandchildren..

January 7, 1956: Mrs. L.O. Hoffman, 71 of Emhouse,
died Jan. 4, 1956. Burial will be at Iamilton. She
was the mother of Mrs. J.C. Turner, 200 Barger Drive,
Waxahachie.' Survivors are: her husband; one son, Major
Lawrence Hoffman, Jr.i of Frankfort, Germany; three
daughters: Mrs. Robert Nokes of Malakoff, Texas, Mrs.
Turner, and Mrs. Curtis Wilcox of Corsicana, Texas;
twelve grandchildren; three brothers: F.L Frost, Beau-.
mont,' Texas, and R.J. and Vernon.Frost of Dallas, Texas$
