WEATHER WITH REX
Dear HSU Students Faculty & Staff:
We will start off the month of
March on Tuesday with slightly cooler
temperatures thanks to a weak cold
front. The forecast includes a chance
of showers and storms that night and
again on Wednesday. After that we
can expect dry weather through the
weekend. The weekend weather
should be nice with high temperatures
slightly above normal in the mid-60s.
By the way we've already had
severe thunderstorms in the area even
through spring has not yet arrived.
Over the weekend strong storms
resulted in a tornado warning for
Mitchell County which is the second
county west of Abilene. If this is your
first spring in Texas please keep in
mind that thunderstorms can some-
times turn severe producing torna-
does hail lightning high winds and
flooding. Severe thunderstorms can
occur anytime of the year but they are
most common during springtime. So
it's a good idea to pay close attention
to what's happening with the weather.
Have a great week!
Rex
