Ghosts at Buffalo Gap?

Dr Don Fraier is un-
apologctically skeptical
about the supernatural
But a group of ghost
hunters who visited the
Buffalo Gap Historic
Village recently found
what they believe to be
evidence that the village is
more active than expected
after the staff turns out the
lights
Fraier a history profes-
sor at McMurry Univer-
sity and executive directoi
of the Grady McWhmey
Research I oundation that
owns and operates the
village told the Kiwanis
Club ol Greater Abilene
1 hursday that the ghost
hunters took some "inter-
esting" photographs and
recordings there during
a late-night excursion a
couple ot weeks ago The
ghost-hunting group. Cen-
tral Texas Ghost Search
collected photographs ot
ghostly orbs in several
buildings and recoidmgs
members believe have
no earthly origin. Fraier
said
Ghostly tales about the
village abound he said
and some staff mem-
bers insist that they have
experienced unexplained
activity

won the inaugural Presi-
dent's Cup Tournament at
the Montgomery County
Community College
in Conroe Texas The
tournament held Satur-
day September 17. 2005
full ot excitement for the
Chips as they started oft
the day with a close win
against the Athletics The
game winning run attrib-
uted to Trey "the cracker"
Cox at the bottom of the
7th clinched the win for
the Chips In the cham-
pionship game the Black
Sox were defeated by the
Chips in a score of 9-1.
Anchored by the pitching
efforts of Scott "Sparks"
Douglas the team was led
to victory by the hot bat ot
his death. Hill's wile and
daughter both lived m
the house until their own
deaths- who may display
dislike lor male visitors.
I raier said
"I or example someone
visiting the house was
looking at an artilact he
wasn't supposed to be
touching." he said "He
noticed some movement
behind him. and turned
to see what he thought
was the upper portion ol a
woman fading oft into the
distance "
Workers at the village
primarily men. have
reported similar distur-
bances. I raier said "I've
been through the house
but the ghost doesn't seem
to fancy me." he said I he
schoolhouse and jail on
the grounds are also said
to have ghostly icsidents
While he maintains his
stoic skepticism. I raier
did concede that "it there
is a place that is haunted
it seems the v illage would
be a good candidate "
