local universities The deadline for the application and required

University had his biographical sketch listed in the 58th edition ot

Who in the World for 2004 and in the 6th edition of ho's Who

Kris Drumhcllcr's study with co-author William Benoit will

Communication student Kele Huddleston will be presenting
her paper Enhancing Persuasive Ability Social Judgment Theory
in Veterinary Practice at the Western States Communication
Conference in Albuquerque NM on February 14. 2004 She was
one of 20 undergraduates selected lor the conference out ol over
40 paper submissions
Kenneth Hcrfurth senior Religion major and Dyess student
has had a paper accepted in the student section ol the annual
meeting of the Southwest Commission on Religious Studies
This is the third year in a row in which he has appeared on the
program of that organization

in London visited the British
Museum and the British
Library to see one of the largest
collections of ancient artifacts
from the Holy Land
The group also walked along
the ruins of the London Wall
which was built during the
Roman ownership of the city in
300 AD
The walk ended at the
London City museum which
houses the many artifacts
.which tell the city's history
Many went on a religious pil-
grimage of sorts to service at
the Wesley Chapel Wesley's
house and a walking tour of
Wesley's London This walking
tour ended at an Evensong
serv ice at St Paul's Cathedral
The service at St Paul's was
not unlike the services that
John Wesley founder of
Methodism used to attend after
preaching at his own church
Members of the Wesley in
London class also went on a
tour to Oxford University
where John Wesley and the

Students taking a course in

required to visit several retail

Spring a season for new traditions

Spring Convocation is a kick-off for the new
academic semester. It gives the students a sense
of unity amongst the faculty and staff at
McMurry and creates high hopes for a new aca-
demic year.
Spring Convocation started up with the
Academic Processional with Dr. David Klasscn
as the Faculty Marshall
Dr. Beverly Lenoir introduced Dr John IF.

The students were based pri-
marily in London although
some ventured outside city lim-
its on different tours and excur-
sions The group took a day trip to
Paris where they got a driving
tour of the city dined in the
mall area outside of the
Louvre and visited the Musee
D'Orsees and the Lille! Tower
Dr Pat LaPoint of the School
of Business organized the trip
and said that the response she
had received Irom students was
generally favorable
address included some "Key McMurry Facts for
2003."
The McMurry Chanters and other musical tal-
ents gave a performance as well. Thcceremony
was concluded with the singing of life Alma
Mater and a reprise from the McMurry Chanters.
While Fall Convocation has taken place for
many years this was the first time that Spring
Convocation has taken place.
Spring Convocation allows a student to have a
sense of belonging and encouragement from the
faculty and staff.
