SIX POINTS: Rory Peacock snags a touchdown pass
against the Crusaders to demonstrate the Indians' scoring
magic.
Indians host Miss.
after Sul Ross win
The McMurry Indians host the Mississippi College
Choctaws for Reservation Homecoming at 2:30 p.m. Sat-
urday Oct. 24.
The Indians brought home their second consecu-
tive shutout victory last weekend wrapping up the Sul Ross
State Lobos 47-0 McMurry's first win in Alpine since 1994.
Quarterback Braxton Shaver threw five touchdown
passes. Running back David Harmon scored another td
and scampered 142 yards on 1 1 carries. Back Chris Rogers
worked his way across seven yards for the final touchdown.
A stout Indian defense held Sul Ross to a miserly
109 yards rushing. McMurry defenders made two success-
ful stands inside their own 10 and recovered a fumble at
their own three another on occasion.

The Indians finally
looked like a fine-tuned ma
chine on both sides of the
ball as their offense was un-
stoppable and their defense
refused to break. Even the
special teams came up with

big plays en route to the first
half slaughter.
Braxton Shaver
threw six touchdowns with
Nathan Cooper and Jeremy
Childers hauling in two a-
piece. Defensive Back
Charles Alexander inter-
cepted a pass late in the first
half and the Indians' punt
return team sacked the Bull-
dogs kicker for a big loss
after a mishandled snap from
center. And believe it or not
these are only the first half
hightlights.
That's right the In-
dians dominated this game
right from the start scoring
on each of their first three
possessions of the first half.
Shaver once again did an
outstanding job finding the
open receivers then getting
the ball to them. The receiv-
ers worked hard finding
ways to get open and the Of-
fensive Line gave Shaver
more than enough time to
pick apart the Bulldog's sec-
ondary. The offensive line
also opened some major
holes allowing running
backs Harmon and Ellison to
have big days on the ground.
The Indians offense finished
the day with 563 total yards
of offense. Shaver finished
with 248 of the Indians 283
passing yards and 7 touch-
downs. Writers needed
