IK has done two sculptures espe-
cially for the McMurry Alumni Asso-
ciation to be used for the Distin-
guished Alumnus Awards. Both arc
sculptures of Indians. He also has
planned a commemorative garden for
the campus. The garden will feature a
life-sized Indian sculpture called
"Sacred Wind.". Around it will be
walkways lined with memorial
plaques in honor or memory of those
persons who have a special meaning
to McMurry or McMurry's alumni.
He is donating his sculpting lime and
talents.
A Cherokee say ing has inspired the
sculpture: "Prairie winds lift the
wings of the hawk and the love of our
brothers. Lift our spirits to soar with
the hawk." A hawk with wings out-
stretched is poised on the shoulder of
the sculpted Indian.
