The McMurry War Whoop October 23 1980
Indians
Defeat
Tarleton
It looked like Custer's last
stand and Tarleton had the un-
fortunate task of trying to stop
the Tribe from retaining its hold
on No 2 in the TI AA conference
race Tarleton however failed
worse than Custer did as the
Tribe went on the Warpath to
win 28-0
The win combined with Sul
Ross's stunning upset of No 1
ranked Austin College placed
the Tribe in a tie for the TIAA
conference lead with Austin Col-
lege What had been developing
as n game of tag between the
Indians and Austin College is
now a two tenm race for the Con-
ference title
Saturdaj the Tribe will celeb-
rate their 1980 Homecoming as
they face Tnnitj for the second
time this season Trinit comes
to the Hcsenation with a 1-3 re-
cord after a -18-0 win over Lub-
bock Christian
