A Job Fair has been
scheduled for 9:00 am to 2:00
pm December 9 in the
Taylor County Coliseum
Abilene Texas. Over 500
positions have already been
confirmed for the event
which is co-sponsored by the
Abilene Chamber of Com-
merce the Texas Industrial
Commission and the Texas
Employment Commission.
"We want the Job Fair to
give job seekers the oppor-
tunity to meet with more
employers about a wider
range of positions in a shor-
ter period of time than they
could find any other way
and it's free" stated Hill fat-
ton director of the Abilene
Industrial Foundation. "The
response has been terrific"
Patton went on to say. "Al-
ready we have openings for
positions ranging from an
electrical engineer to a zoo
keeper."
People attending the Job
Fair will actually give appli-
cations and be interviewed
for positions that interest
them. Many employers are
hoping to hire people on the
spot.
"It's just the best way
going to look for a job" re-
marked BUI Cross TEC rep-
resentative. "Instead of
spending hours and hours
pounding the pavement a
person looking for a job can
meet many companies with
immediate openings."
Employers who have a
table at the Job Fair have
submitted a list of positions
they need to fill. This list will
be posted at the entrance to
the Job Fair Newjobswillbe
listed daily.
If you're not working or
you're looking for a better
job come to the Abilene Job
Fair December 8 from 9:00
til 2:30 pm in the Taylor
County Coliseum Abilene
