On Campus Revival to Be Held
At McMurry September 18-20
As we begin a new year we the editors and stafTwould
like to outline the basic policies and goals of the War
Whoop. We hope to see the War Whoop become a stu-
dent newspaper that the entire college community can
take pride in and enjoy.
First of all the War Whoop will give top priority to
student-oriented interests and activities. This will
necessitate some cooperation from students who are not
on the paper staff.
Because of a small reporting staff items such as
club news dorm news and class news items should
be submitted by reporters of the various areas.
Letters to the editor are welcome and encouraged. If
signed these letters may be printed on the editorial
page of the War Whoop. Guest editorials may be sub-
mitted and will be published when space permits.
Copy deadline for all stories and letters to the editor is
Monday at 2:30 p.m. Any copy submitted after this time
will be used in the next paper.
The War Whoop will be printed approximately 11
times each semester. No papers will be distributed dur-
ing holidays dead week or finals week. There will only
be one paper printed in December and one in Janaury.
An on-campus revival comes
to McMurry Monday Sept.
18-20 7:00 p.m. in Woh
Wahtaysee Park and concludes
Thursday Sept. 21' with the
9:30 a.m. morning worship in

Deer United Methodist Church
will conduct the services. Robin

deeper walk with Christ and his
saving power. Everyone is ex-
tended o warm welcome to attend.

Keeping In Touch
Twenty three oil paintings by
L. E. Davis arc now on display in
the Ryan Gallery of the Ryan
Fine Arte Building.
According to Mr. Sherwood
Sutcr Chairman of the
McMurry Art Department
Davis paintings which arc
mostly landscapes have a sen-
timental and nostalgic quality
about them.
"They express his feelings of
the past" Sutcr explained.
"These paintings hove a feeling
of loneliness about them ot the
same time they show a great
love of nature and hove a happy
quality which gives them their
appeal. He is a romantic
realist."
Davis has lived in Abilene
since 1946.
His first interest in art was at
the age of 12. He studied under
Robert Knudson in Scdona
Arizona and later studied under
Maisi Sirois in Abilene.
Davis also studied in art clas-
ses at McMurry under J. Robert
Miller and has participated in
many workshops.
