most of the times and distances
of his athletes but pointed out

McMurry Tennis Teams
The McMurry tennis tenm has
started competition once again
for the first time in the past de-
code and after the first week is
still looking for ita initial match
win
The men's team has played
twice while the women have
had three matches thus far with
two scheduled events being
wiped out by the weather
The men and women hove lost
to Amarillo College and South
Plains College and the women
were also beaten by New Mexico
Junior College

The defending TIAA confer-
ence golf champions open de
fense of their crown this Friday
in Alpine in the first stop of the
TIAA conference golf tourna-
ment McMurry is coming off its onlj
tournament of the season last
week at Pecan Valley in San An-
tonio where the Indians placed
fourth
The Indians won the confer-
ence title last spring in
Stephen vi lie winning ntwo-da
tournament. Indian Terry Lam-
bert won the individual
medalist in the tournament
This year the conference
coaches have changed the for-
mat for the tournament to three
36-hole tournaments to be
played at separate sites. The
scores for each team will be to-
taled together and following the
final tournament at Sherman
the conference champion will be
crowned
The two other sites for the
meets will be Abilene and
