While in Korea Kim wbb
awarded the "People's Medal".
Kim went to Korea with the
hopes of finding information
about what happened to two of
his brothers They were taken
out of their home during the
Korean War more than 25 years
ago
Did he find out anything
about them? "No" Kim replied
"It is impossible to get any in-
formation from the North
Koreans It is likely thnt we will
never find out but still you enn
hope "
The only things that Kim docs
not like about modern Korea is
that there is too much trnffic nnd
the air pollution is becoming a
very evident problem.
When asked about the schools
in Korea Kim remarked
"American students would not
like the Korenn system. In
Korcn students attend classes
from 7 n m to 5 p m Mondny
through Friday and they also
attend classes from 7 n m. to
noon on Snturdny. They arc also
required to wear uniforms "
"Korenn students nre n hard
working group There is n renl
hunger nnd thirst for know-
ledge" concludes Kim.
An interesting fnct thnt was
brought up is that it takes two
days to travel from Abilene to
Korea halfway around the
world "It wns a most enjoyable
