'M-Pact' Serves Students

"M-Pact" McMurry style for many students
The men's pact was made by
the Hunt Dormitory Council and
the store was officially opened on
an experimental basis following a
dorm meeting in December Lo-
cation of the snack bar is the
kitchen area of the Hunt Dormi-
tory lobby
At first only assortments of
candy and cold canned soft drinks
and milk were sold The inven-
tory was gradually increased to
include sandwiches hot dogs
corn dogs pizza a selection of
Mexican foods and various other
snacks
"M-Pact" is open from 5-11
pm Sunday through Friday and
Band Tours

on Mondays and Tuesdajs ac-
cording to Dean Jackson King

only residents but also non-residents

lobby of the dorm to cat and
watch television Chairs and
tables have been sot up to accom-
modate residents and visiting
customers
The idea for the store was de-
rived from several sources Before
"M-Pact" opened numerous com-
plaints about vending machines
were received by Dean King;
problems ranged from faulty op-
oiation to poor and limited selec-
tions Dr D G Porterfield col
lege doctor also prompted the or-
ganization by i elating to Dean
King what he remembered as one
of the major problems he had en-
countered during his dorm life at
McMurry no convenient on-
campus source of food in the
evenings
Any piofits reali7ed fiom the
stcre have been designated by the
dorm council for dormitory
improvements
Picsent plans are for the store
to remain open as long as it can
serve the needs of the students
oi until another on-campus snack
bar or center is opened to stu-
dents in the evenings according
to Dean King
