Quite an unuaual incident took
plaoe in our community laet Sun-
day nigh t in the way of a double
wedding. The contracting par*
ties were Edwin Oliver and Mies
Jessie Eiteil, Albert Harvey and
Miaa Nat Lamb. Mr Oliver haa
lived here for aeveral years and
is very popular. He is to be
congratulated on hia selection as
a helpmeet for life.-a Miss Jessie
is the oldest daughter ol Mr and
Mrs J A Estell. She has grown
up from ohildhood in our midst
and is one ol the sweetest and
brightest flowers of the valley.
None knew her bat to love her,
and We bespeak for this happy
couple .a bright future. They
will soon go to VanZandt county
where they will make their home
Mr Harvey is a young man of
good habits who has been raised
up almost under our personal
oneervation and is held in high
esteem by all who know him.
He certainly made a wise ohoioe
M selecting a life partner, as
Miss Lamb is one of our bright*
eat, sweetest end mbit intelligent
young Jadiee and to know her
sms to love her. The ceremony
was performed by Rev. D. M.
Cogtlell of Mineral Wells in the
presenoe of a host of friends at
the Sturdivant sohool house,
twrence Garrett, who has
sick for quite awhile, is
able to be out again.
T F Harrison has been nursing
one of Jobe’s pets for the past
week,
The matrimonial fever seems
to be oontagous of late. Sever-
al oases have been reported and
we look for several more m break
out at any time.
One night last week someone
shot and killed a good mare be-
longing to Charley Osbordv Shie
was shot twioe in the neck with

first time such a thing has hap*
pened in this community and we
hope it will be the laet.

as chairman of the Coun.y Ex*
eoutive Committee of Palo Pinto
oounty I hereby oall a conven-
tion to be held at Palo Pinto at
1 p. m. Friday, Ootcber 3rd,
1902, said convention to be com-
posed of delegates from each
voting preoinot in the oounty, to
be eleoted by preoinot conven-
tions whioh will convene Batur*
day, Bept. 27. The purpose of
the convention will be fco oonsider
tjhe^ffiilter of reorganization, the
nomination of w .county tioket
and the transaction of any other
business properly ooming before
the body. The basis of repre-
sentation will be one for every
ten votes cast for the populist
candidate for governor in 1900.
All persons who are not affiliated
wither will not be bound by the
actions of either the demooratio
or republican party in the ooun-
ty are invited to meet with us.
