(This course is taught by the
Ri J E Shewbert pastor at
Highland Heights Methodist
Church Sweetwater)
This course sieks to interpret
the Christian religion to oung
people m n way so as to apply the
teachings of Jisus to the every
day probluns and life of outh
Beginning with the Christian's
conception of God the course car
nes the student through a study
of the Christians faith exper
tence church sacramental life re
ligious education home commun
ity citizenship business steward
ship and finally thi world mis
sion of Christianity
We all agree that there are
many in our churches tous; who
really do not know the larger
'meaning of the Christian relig
ion" and this course helps the stu
dent to that enlarged view of the
Christian's life We believe that
if more of our young people un
derstood the true meaning of the
Christian religion there would be
more of them living more com
pletely the Christian life
Many of our outh are victims
of certain patterns of Christian
living which upon careful exami-
nation and study of the teachings
of Jesus are not Christian after
all Thise putterns are the result
of some misconceptions of the
Christian life which arc all too
often found among many church
members who are not committed
to the will of God themselves The
materialistic philosophy of life
has also worked its way into much
of the Christian thinking of the
modern age and we have a diluted
form of Christianity which is not
adequate for the problems of life
