IbrI Thursday.
Intrigued by this mviiterious In-
vitation members of the two cluba
packed and jammed into earn to
roam the country In search of a
I house In which thilr five pledge.
finally admitting they were evil
spirits lurked.
Following direction calculated to
purrle them Kappa 1'hl.s Rnd
1 Klvans abandoned their cars to
walk across a bridge planted by
the pledgee to lend atmosphere to
the already unknown surroundings.
Streamers of black and orange on
the rail of the bridge proved to be
the only signs of recent habitation.
After plodding on through dark-
ness which wag broken only by
the .streaming headlights of their
cars club members finally came
upon a brilliant jack-o'lantern
posted in the road marking the
lonely jicene of their Hallowe'en
Jamboree.
Some fifty ards beyond this
marker embedded in swamps and
willow tries Kappa I'hl members
nnd Kivas found themselves in nn
ancient shack the doors and
windows of which were Infested
with mvsteilous shapes and shad-
ows which seemed to bo amused
as a frightened visitor crunched
the very boards of the floor as he
crept from room to rom.
After having been thoroughly
convinced that the five hosts hada
the evil spirits well under control
guests consented to have their for-
tunes told by a very revengeful

on a constructive program for the
Improvement of the McMurry
campus.
One of their projects Is to place
the library clock prcesnted by tho

ence known and conducted a pro-
gram thoroughly enjoyed by all. It
consisted of gfoup singing with

and a number of ghost stories told
in utter darkness by two authori-
ties on the subject: Dr. F. K.

After having been served cook-
ies lemonade marshmallows and
all-day suckers the group conclud-
ed this most unusual festival with
the singing of "Good Night

evil spirits and pledges weren't so
bad after all.

Class of '45
(Continued from rage One)
kss than one week earlier In the
j ear. And too this one had no in-
terference. As we look Into some of the In-
side stuff that occurred on this af-
fair we find Slimes Hundley and
Shannon directing their attention
to Kcmpson and Young. This
seemed to be a strictly roommate
date.
Although he did have a difficult
time keeping up with her le
Adams was seen with Wllla Gene
Rhem when she wasn't on the bus
gossiping.
The creek water was cold very
cold after getting out and having
wet shoes; but Young found his
remedy for this was to Just take
off the wet shoos.
During the time spent on the
ranch ample space for adventure
was furnished and "Class of '45"
was carved on a rock located on
I the side of a hill. Tho time of the
picnic had to bo cut short so class
members could return In time for
I chapel. The elated class drove
back to tho campus to make a rec-
ord of undisturbed by upperclasa-
men and walked Into chapel proud
of this achievement. I
As the slimes are always told to
be good sports the upperclassmen '
might also realize their responsl-'
blblttv of aftHlnfl. a trfuA AvamhU
It was suggested. Several out-
bursts of anger were portrayed aft-
er tho successful picnic but per-
haps upperclassmen were so sur-
prised that they didn't have time
to think about how they should
take it.
But as was acknowledged bv
several upperclassmen it was one '
of the most successful fetes ever
attempted by a freshman class.
