Forty different 01 ganiations await our
decision Did you realize that you have the
privilege of joining any one of thcto cluks
with the exception of the six social clubs?
They ivtain the right to aak you However
organizations need youi support and arc an-
xious to have you join
But there are several drawbacks to this
marvelous set-up Old members resent
joiners." Joiners are a very special brand
ef humanity They merely join to get their
picture in the annual This certainly im-
presses the home town. They miss every
meeting but the yearly social or the day of
dub election By some hook or crook they
some times get elected to some minor position
nd then sit back and take it easy Worst
Btill they get in just in time to mess some
election up by using their influence against
some wortln memlcrpersonal grudges
and stuff
With the addition of jour name and sev-
eral others just like vou the club appears
to be active to the outsiders and thereby
rati-i a page in the voar book This often
knocks some really active organization out
of a place in the annual
All of this is just a warning in order to
help ou pick oui clubs and be a credit to
your choues It is advisable to select at
least two ilulw so as to have a well-rounded
college life "o not center our interest on
one organization and ignore the others Be
intensted and willing to work then join
join clubs and stick to them

This is a democratic school It
would keep most of the students
from looking around during the

of course some chronic gotsipers
would be bad mannered under any

The U S. population it 19 per

by the things some peNoplc fall
for I should have thought it was
worse than that. Well I shouldn't

buy.
Speaking of gold bricks I dont
use dope or sit up late or drink
too much but (whisper) I DO col-
lect coupons and send 'em in for

The trouble with most parlor
dates is that they turn into kitch-
en dates You might scare 'em
out by letting on you can't cook
or saying something like "You'll
like this spaghetti it grew in our
own garden and I gathered it
fresh just for you " Or if you
want a kitchen date say "C'mon
out tonight I'm gonna cook some
nice vitamins "

If someone's caught in your wat-

ian Jacobs she loves 'em
Just bubblin' over with class
spirit secretary Jacobs spends
most of her time thinking up
ways for fish to outwit the up-

don't have enough spirit ct wo
are gonna make this the 'swell-
elegantest' freshman class in his-
tory" she said enthusiastically
Marian is 5 8 ' has brown eyes
black hair and a very pleasing
personality She collects poems
about girls loves all kinds of
sports (especially tennis) and
slouchy sport clothes but would
forget everything if she could
listen to Bing Crosby tho rest of
her life
Slime Jacobs admitted her "ro-
meo" will have personality plus
be neat gentlemanly not so ser-
ious and kinda crazy
Her aversions are going bare-
foot on gnnel road cats (that
is if they're wild) and her extra
special horror is being an old
maid
