Track season comes

The indoor track season
is finished reports Coach
Rick Amick and it shapes
up this way:
The first meet was at
West Texas State Universi-
ty at Canyon on Jan. 21.
Steve Bottoms placed fifth
in the high jump and Terry
Brooks placed fourth in the
60-yard high hurdles.
The next meet was on
Jan. 28 the Hugh Rhodes
Relays at Lubbock Chris-
tian College. In this meet
Wade Goddard placed sixth
in the 60-yard long jump
Brooks sixth in the high
hurdles and Xavier Henn-

Sam Houston took over
sole possession of second
place with a win over
Angelo State Monday
night while Stephen F.
Austin is sitting in fourth
place just a game ahead of

stood at 4-18 going into the
game Wednesday.
However Tarleton State
is a different matter. The
Texanns have been na-
tionally ranked in the NAIA
all season long and are now
19-5. TSU defeated the
Jackets 92-78 in HPU's se-
cond game of the season.

This week in intramurals basketball competitions
Barry's Bombers and Kentucky lead the men's divi-
sion with 54 records followed by the Renegades with
a 3-1 record.
Sons of Thunder and the Rejex each are at 3-2 while
the Smurfs are 2-3. Next with records of 1-4 are the
Cannibals and Swat I followed by Swat II with 0-4 and
the Condors with 0-3.
In the women's division By the Spirit is in the top
position with a 3-2 record followed by the Overcomers
and Talent with 2-2. Too Hip stands with a record of 1-1.
Intramurals director Bobby Morris says that no
tryouts of any kind will be required to participate in the
softball competitions but teams are asked to sign up
early.

Sangodeyi and Allen each
average eight rebounds a
contest.
The SFA contest will
begin at 7:30 p.m. since
there is no women's game
that night while the game
against Sam Houston will
start at 8 p.m. Monday.
