Pizza supper
Pizza freaks will have a chance to satisfy their hunger pangs
when APO sponsors its second Pizza Supper Sunday April II
from 5 p.m. through I p.m. in the SUB.
Pizzas are being sold for $2 each and drinks can be bought for
a quarter. Pizza selection includes pepperoni sausage and
cheese.
Trees from Veda
At least one organization took to heart a Yellow Jacket
editorial calling for campus organizations to help with campus
beautification.
The Veda Hodge dorm council purchased four trees at a cost
of $50. The trees were planted at various spots on campus.
Kathy Hoffman is president of the dorm council and Vicki
Crampton is vice president.
The trees contributed by the women's dorm council ups the
amount of trees planted on campus by student organizations to
14. Senate had earlier allocated funds for ten trees.

Want to try your luck on a bucking barrel? Want a chance to
kiss a pretty coed? How about trying for a record in a cow chip
tossing contest?
The Sid Richardson dorm council has made all three possible
to persons who are participating in Western Days scheduled to
begin this afternoon said Terry Easely council spokesman.
Circle K carwash
For all those lazy persons who have dirty cars here's your
choice to dispense with doing the job.
Circl K will sponsor a car wash tomorrow at the T.G. and Y.
Auto Center from 9 a.m. through 4 p.m.
Cost is $2 including vaccuming.
Jr.-Sr. banquet
is April 27
Girls It's time to start
shopping for that "spelcal
dress." The Junior-Senior
banquet Is Just IS days away.
The traditional affair is
scheduled Thursday April 27 at
7:30 p.m. according to Junior
Class President Ronny Tucker.
Entertainment will be
provided by Kandy Smith an
HP alumni and currently youth
director for Ft. Worth's Shiloh
Baptist Church.
Prices have been set at $4.50 a
person and $1.50 a couple.

Softball
Trophies taken
in BSU tourney
Howard Payne took a second
and third place at the BSU State
Softball Tournament last
weekend at the University of
Texas at Arlington. The girls
team won second against North
Texas State University and the
men's team took third away
from Baylor University.
The girls' team consisted of

The weekend was completed
with only two major injuries:
Carmen Amons broke her nose
and Bill Hickman pulled the
ligaments in his thumb.
HPU was the only school to
walk away with two trophies
which were presented in chapel

The annual Howard Payne
Univerfsity track and field in-
vitational meet will serve as a
prelim for the annual Lone Star
Conference spring meet in
Abilene.
The HPU meet will be held
Saturday on the Cap Shelton
Memorial Track in Cen-Tex
Stadium.
Counting HPU Six of the
eight LSC teams will be taking
part in the meet. These schools
are Texas Aid University
Southwest Texas Sam Houston
East Texas and Angelo State.
The field events will get un-
derway at 1 p.m. and the run-
ning events will start at 2:30.

Kelly Brooks places
fourth in Indian Relays
Coach John Wayne Rathke
thinks the dashes will attract
the most attention at the meet.
Angelo State's Wally Turner
Southwest Texas' David Cooke
and HPU's Willie Phea have ail
turned in performances well
below the 9.5 mark.
Among the other LSC stan-
douts are HPU's Kelley Brooks
freshman from Belton who has
ranked high in the shot put with
a best effort of 51-6; Ricky
Marquez Angelo State's miler;
and ET's high Jumper (7.0)
JohnBurck.
ABILENE - Howard
Payne's Kelly Brooks was the
only trackster to place in the
Indian Relays last weekend
here. He finished fourth in the
shotput with a season-best
throw of 51.6.
Texas Tech took the team
title despite the fact the
Raiders won Just one event.
Wayland Baptist College took
second.
Meet records held by Howard
Payne in the shot put and high
Jump were broken at the meet.
