What do you feel the roles of studeats
goveraaseat are? Do you feel that the
Howard Payne senate has fulfilled them? I
feel the role of student government is to
serve and meet the needs that it can of the
student. I do believe H.P. senate has
fulfilled the needs it has the authority and
capacity to fulfill.
How do you feel about the Yellow Jacket
eadorsiag candidates for office? I don't
feel the Yellow Jacket should endorse a
candidate for office. I feel the Yellow
Jacket represents the entire student body
and should not show Partiality.

Randy Skinner
Randy Skinner candidate for
the vice presidency is a 19-year-old
Bible major from
Houston. His grade point
average is listed as 3.0. He has
been a member of senate for
two years.
Skinner responded to the
questionaire with the following
replies.
Views oa that office It is an office that
has the ability to change the chapel
requirements which I hope to do
especailly the inefficient way grade points
are taken off for missing over 6 times. As
president of IOC when problems arise by
working with the Presidents of each
organization the students can be informed
quickly to voice their opinion on matters
affecting their public personal life here at
HPU.
Why are you seeklag aa SA office I am
seeking SA vice president because I do not
feel that this office has been utilized to its
fullest. It is an office that the students
opinions and ideas can be interjected
throughout the administration in a con-
structive manner and receive the answers
that the students are looking for.
What qualifies your caadldace? I
HAVE SERVED Z YEARS AS
SENATOR THIS YEAR BEING MY
SECOND. As a freshman senator among
my fellow freshman senators I introduced
85 percent of all legislation. That year
among all fellow senators I introduced a
bout 35 percent of all legislation and
among fellow sophomore senators I in-
troduced 95 percent of all legislation and
among fellow senators I introduced 55 per-
cent or better of all legislation introduced
in senate. I say this simply to say that I
have kept involved and have tried to
represent my constituents to the best of
my abilities.
What do you feel the assets of this yean
aresldeat aad seaate have beea? What
would you do If aaythiag to Improve the
year? A problem between the student
senate and the students has always been
one of the communication. Too many
students do not realize what their student
government is doing for them. If elected I
plan to keep the students informed by
having a monthly print-out of all
legislation in an interesting readable form
to help break this communication barrier.
This year student senate I feel has made
great progress in Election Rules bus ser-
vice working for more time between
classes working for only 1 point taken off
the GPA for missing too many chapels in-
stead of 3 points. I feel the senate la now
