against the policy. However
according to Tucker Dr. Baker
head of the music department
has not done anything to correct
the matter. Dean of Students
E.B. Myre instructed Tucker to
see Dean Jackson again for
clarification on the matter.
Randy Skinner sophomor-
senator asked if a family plan
under the blanket tax for
married students could be
formulated. Frequently
Skinner said a married
student's spouse is not enrolled
in classes and cannot attend
university functions free of
charge. Skinner said he did not
expect these students tm gain
free admission into all func-
tions but that they should be
given a discounted rate. He will
meet with Harold Preston
university business manager to
discuss the idea.
In other business Senior
President Charles Thrasher
reported that lights for the dark
parking areas would be in-
stalled however only in the
event that the plan now in
operation fails. Light bulbs
were replaced in some of the
fixtures attached to campus
buildings. Thrasher said if
vandalism continues in the
parking lots that Preston has
agreed to install better lighting.
Senate approved the Lady
Jackets for Jesus constitution.
Melinda Venable Jackets
president answered questions
concerning her organization's
constitution. The constitution is
now subject for review before
the Student Service Personnel
Committee chaired by Dr.
James Shields of the School of
Christianity.

in SUB seminar
A two-day SUB-sponsored
seminar on love marriage and
birth control will be held Feb. 14
- and 15 in the Bell Club Room in
Walker Memorial Library at 8
p.m.

Dr. Ray Ellis dean of
graduate studies at Hardin-
Simmons University in Abilene
will be on campus Feb. 17 from
10 a.m. through 2 p.m. in the
Registrar's Office to talk with
students interested in working
toward a master's degree at H-
SU. The Hardin-Simmons
graduate program offers the
Master of Arts Master of
Business Administration
Master of Education and
Master of Music degrees. The
program also offers five
graduate assistantships in
English history business
education and music.
Dr. Ellis said that some of the
graduate faculty would be
present at a noon banquet in the
Sid Richardson Gold Room on
Feb. 17. Interested students
may attend this luncheon by
making reservations in the
Dean of Students Office.
Rec program
needs volunteers
A recreation program for
children sponsored by La Hora
Bautista is currently being held
on Monday afternoons at
Primera Iglesia Bautista.
The program is being held
from 4 p.m. through 5:30 p.m.

include Dr. Michael F. Shultze
a local gynecologist Dr. Bill
Robbins dean of the depart-
ment of behavioral science at
the university and Rev. Rueben
Packer pastor of Brownwood's
Victory Baptist Church.
Rev. Packer will present the
Christian viewpoint of love
marriage and birth control on
the first evening of the seminar.
Doctors Shultze and Robbins
will be featured during the
second evening of the seminar.
Dr. Shultze will speak on birth
control and Dr. Robbins will
speak on love and marriage.

admitted free with id.
Dr. Laughlin
publishes work
Dr. Charlotte Laughlin an
assistant professor of English
will shortly have one of her
literary papers published by
The Library Chronicle of the
Univeristy of Texas.
The paper is entitled
"Mazeppa and The Bride of
Abydos: A comparsion of title
page variants." The paper
deals with previously un-
discovered variants in the
works of Lord Byron. Dr.
Laughlin wrote the paper while
she was in graduate school at
UT.

Subscriptions to the Yellow
Jacket may be purchased for
only $2.75 a semester an-
nounced Joel Conley
newspaper business manager.
The Yellow Jacket appears
weekly during the year ex-
cluding holidays and exam
weeks.
"The subscription price is
considerably lower than most
college newspapers" Conley
said.
Interested parties may come
by the Publications offices in
Winebrenner-108 to purchase
the subscription.
After-game party
SUB will sponsor an after-
game party following the
Howard Payne-East Texas
State basketball game on
Thursday Feb. 17 in the Sid
Richardson Gold Room.
The party to be hosted under
the popular 50's theme will
feature live entertainment.
Students are asked to attend the
party dressed in 50's attire.
Prizes for best costumes will be
awarded.
Pizza and soft drinks will be
served.
La Hora to Menard
La Hora Bautista will sponsor
a weekend revival trip to
Menard Tex. next weekend
Tony Caraballo member said.
Caraballo said that the nine
member team will hold nightly
services and hold visitation in
the afternoons.
