Zlda a new women's fash-
ion accessories store will
open Friday In downtown
near the Civic Center at 766
Cedar Street.
"When a girl walks into the
store the first thing she no-
tices is the environment and
forgets she's in Abilene" said
Jonathan Jenkins owner of
Zida and ACU graduate.
Over Christmas break Jen-
kins and a group of students
from ACU traveled to China to
buy accessories for the store.
The store consists of every-
thing from earrings necklac-
es purses wallets and brace-
lets. The furniture displavcd
to showcase the merchandise
is also for sale.
The store will open on
Friday night at 7 p.m. and is
open all night long until 7
a.m. Saturday. Students can
receive a 25 percent off dis
Volunteer
Meal on Wheel needs volun-
teers immediately to deliver meals
to seniors and adults with disabili-
ties. This usually takes about an
hour and students can have one
day of chapel per week excused
for this service. Contact the Volun-
teer Service-Learning Center In the
Bean Sprout.
Global Samaritan Resource
(formerly Healing Hands Interna-
tional) urgently needs volunteers
this Friday and Saturday to prepare
your ring!

"All my life girls have been
taking money out of my wal-
let and I've finally found a
business where girls give me
money" Jenkins said.
"We arc excited about
opening a store that has a
good atmosphere and is not
expensive" said Sunday Gcr-
rit store manager and per-
sonal assistant to Jenkins.
"The style for spring is
60s prep and ou can find
that here" said Gcrrit. "This
store is bringing Abilene to
new status."
