Texas Southern University: From Separation to Special Designation ex-
plores the origins of the :university and its transformation to a pluralistic
and urban-oriented institution. John S. Lash wrote the monograph, with

Winedale Museum, Providing a brief, annotated selection of articles and
books in English, the list will launch curious students on a rewarding ex-

Journal of the West continues its series of valuable topical issues. In the
April 1975 number, Alan Probert presents a monograph titled Silver Quest:
Episodes of Mining in New Spain. The study covers several hundred years
and is complemented by an index. "Ranching in the West" is the theme
