Lower Rio Grande Valley in Texas and Tamaulipas, with Biologi-
cal Notes and Special Reference to Geographical Distribution is a
paper by Mr. C. H. T. Townsend. In it the distribution of 522
species of Coleoptera is recorded.
Dr. H. Y. Benedict of the University contributes a pedagogical
essay on An Ideal History of Experiments on the Regular Penta-
gon. The paper describes the new methods that are coming to pre-
vail in the teaching of mathematics, and enters a plea for the
more extended use of experimental geometry.
