Shaw Receives Award
From Women's Clubs
Charles Shaw Abilene junior
received a $50 scholarship award
Tuesday from the City Federa-
tion of Women's Clubs. The "op-
portunity award" was presented
for accomplishments in the Mc-
Murry music department.
Mrs. E. E. Traweek pre-
sented the check to Shaw on
behalf of the women's organ-
isation. Mrs. Traweek was in-
troduced to the chapel audi-
ence by Mrs. Gordon Ben-
nett. Recognition of students out-
standing in speech and art was
made at Abilene Christian Col-
lege and Hardtn-Simmons Uni-
versity respectively.
Shaw was selected by music
department heads and a commit-
tee of the City Federation of
Women's Clubs composed of Jen-
nie Tate and Mrs. Ada Wilkins.
