club colors. Gamma Sigma's are
blue with the white Greek letters

Spring Pledging Begins
For Campus Social Clubs
From general appearances on
the campus and reports from club
presidents It is clear that spring
pledging for men's and women's
social clubs has begun In earnest.
Performances at spring picnics
and banquets was perhaps the first
duty of pledges. Ko Sari squires
entertained at the Ko Sari picnic
Saturday and TIP Qobbcttea pro-
vided the program for the annual
Five TC Colleges
In Track Meets
Saturday
Three track and field meets
claim the attention of five Texas
Conference college this Saturday.
Rated at the top of the confer-
ence Howard Payne and Abilene
Christian participate with the Uni
versity of Texas in a triangular
meet at Austin. The Southwestern
Reel cation Meet at Fort Worth
numbers McMurry and Austin
among its entries. Texas A&I will
compete In an Invitational meet
with Lone Star and Gulf Coast
conference schools in San Marcos
Howard Payne finished third
with 24fe points behind North
Texas and Bast Texas at the Bor-
der Olympics in Laredo. Abilene
Christian tied for fourth with 20
and McMurry scored nine. Texas
A&I did not place.
Howard Payne will send Eugene
Carter up against Texas Univer-
sity's Charley Parker in the
sprints. Howard Payne will be
dangerous in the 440-yard relay.
In breaking a division record the
Yellow Jackets handed North Tex-
as State's 440 quartet its first de
feat in two and a half years Satur
day at Laredo.
ACC's best Individual perform-
ers arc Leon Lepard 440 and 880
star and Paul Faulkner pole
vaultcr.
On the basis of the Olympics
McMurry's biggest hopes at Fort
Worth lie in the 880 with Richard
Adams and In the mile relay. Lit
tie is known of the Kangaroos
who make their debut Saturday
with 13 lettermen.

Staff meeting of the War Whoop
Is scheluled for 12:30 In the west
lounge of the Iris Graham Memo-
rial dining hall today.
All journalism students and vol-
untary workers are asked to attend
this meeting.
Sweetheart banquet. Gamma Sig
ma pledges are In charge of the
entertainment Saturday at the
club's picnic.
The Ko Sari be-taped paddles
made their usual appearance along
with TIP Gobbette caps. Helmets
were added to the Klva pledges'
garb shoc-ahtnc boxes.
Delta Beta Epsllon pledges real-
ly brought an apple to the teacher
last week while Kappa Phi women
were cleaning the stair railing.
Gobbcttcs of TIP had a hey-day
Thursday as members became
pledges and pledges members in
the traditional "Pledge-Day."
IHR is striving to maintain a
higher scholastic average among
their Neophytes as they aie off cl-
ing a tiophy to the Neophyte with
