CONGRATS ON CHAPEL
Once upon a time tlicrc was a little chapel program five
times a week. Those wcio the days Mien only dry dull things
happened and most people icfuscd to attend. Now there is a
Big Chapel piogram thice times a week.
The old stereotyped progiam has been abandoned for new
interesting entertainment. Ned Biadley and his dance orchestra
from the 1 3 1st Field Artillery played for us Monday March 17
1941. This was one of the most enjoyable forty-five minutes of
the year. The local chapel cut ai tists went back on their tactics
and enjoyed themselves as much as the musical artists.
The army men and their piogram both seems to be a tonic
or refreshment in themselves and to all around them. The music
was varied and intciesting to all who were musically minded
and the anangements drew continued applause. The program
was typical of army life and doings and men.
Next Friday March 28 1911 we will be entertained by the
General Motor's- New York World's Fair Exhibit. And the follow-
ing Monday March 31 1941 the 131st Field Artillery Band will
play. Everyone is hxiking forward to tcsc programs with expect-
ancy and delight.
May we warmly clasp the hand of Mr. Alvin K. Bailey in a
show of our appreciation for the promotion of these and the
many more programs to come.

SPRING IS HERE and just the time for all you LOVE

Guess it just took spring to get THELMA BURHAM and
PHIL ANDERSON Cross Plains together-looks as it now it'd
take a blitkreig to get 'cm apart.
A muchhunted-for little boy was MAC SNODGRASS last
Wednesday morning. The day started off right by a blond from
Olden coming to the Girls' Dormitory to inquire as to his where
abouts. When she finally found him it was 12 o'clock noon.
With alt the questioning etc. all we could find out was that she
had her mother with her and that she got a ring from him. Sounds
bad Macl
When MARJORIE CONWAY is watting for PERCY OWEN
she spends her time in embroidering. Could this be to make
a good impression on him? HUH Marjorie?
From all we can gather "HOG" GLEATON likes his girls
about twice his size. That's a pretty large girl Hugh but I guess
if you can stand it we should be able tool
MARY DEAN UNDERWOOD likes her boy friends from
far off for instance California while JEAN WILSON likes
them fiom Tarlcton and EMMA MAXWELL preferes them
irom near by towns such as May. They all triple elated Saturday
night. This sounds odd and if any of you Billies can find
out any further information as to this night please be so kind
as to give the rest of the "kids" a break.
Ycssir it is a fact this OLA FAYE TRAMMEL and RICH-
ARD VAGHN affair is one of the sweetest little romances this
old campus affords at present (this comes from NYAL SMITH
but he doesn't want his name mentioned so don't tell a soul).
ELI MERRILL seems to be the worst of bed fellows. It is
a dirty shame he keeps his roommate awake telling him about
his forlorn love af fails. Shame on you Eli until the nex issue
of this dust-pan comes out.
MARY ELIZABETH DYEER what is this gossip about
that tcnible terrible parlor date you had last week? Really
you shouldn't talk so loud when certain nosey people are around.
CONNIE PLEXICO was seen Saturday night and Sunday
afternoon with one of those pieces of humanity in olive drab
wool (soldier to you). Guess this puts you on the list of "Also
Went with Soldiers."
DEOMIE LANCASTER seems to really get around these
days. Everywhere we go there she is sufficient uttered or "nuff"
said.
And just to polish off we better drop this lucious bit
ALICE HUMPHRIES was very definitely being squired by a
soldier too. My my these Daniel Baker girls have a great deal
in common these days. The most lucious bit of this lucious bit is
that they were seen at the wrestling matches but rough.
Can vibrations caused by the roar of an airplane engine
make the frame of a house weak? 1019 Coggin is an awfully big
house to weaken isn't it MARGARET?
CAWYER the girl who calls you every night at 6 P. M. has
an awfully sweet voice. Docs she worry about your coming down
to earth so that she calls you every night in order to sleep.
We sec HOG GLEATON around SKIPPING a lot lately
and that is no misplacement of the verb to skip either.
JANE RAE LOWE just loves BOIDS-you know-the kind
with wings that fly overhead.
Dorm Indigestion
Though our faults are many and
our virturcs few. we have one
characteristic that will sooner or
later result in wholesale slaughter
our unfailing desire for cleanli-
ness. It takes the strategy of Na-
poleon to maneuver a bath before
the hot water faucet turns to an
Ice water dispenser.
Irene Hanson to date has prov-
ed the greatest tactician she slips
down the hall quiet like a mouse
at twenty minutes to ton and
waits for the bell like an old vul-
ture. That's all right Irene we'll
get you. For every move there's a
counter-move.
And guess what came through
the mall today a great old big
white cake from two ex-nesters
Mildred and Imogone. They knew
In advance the speechless grati-
