I. DAR Liaison John Anderson reported no other activities.
J. Speaker's Bureau Chairman Bill Covington was out of town traveling.
K. ROTC/JROTC Committee Chair David Friels reported that the award ceremonies are
scheduled between the dates of April 3 and May 8; however, we don't have dates for
two of the schools. Compatriots have volunteered to present for all but four of the 10
schools. Members were encouraged to present at one of the award ceremonies, or at
least attend one or more of the ceremonies for the experience of seeing the pride and
patriotism exhibited by the cadets.
IX. Ongoing Chapter Business - Past, Present, & Future
A. No ongoing business was discussed.
X. New Business
A. Dan Hamilton gave a power point presentation regarding a new logo for the Chapter
and potential uses; such as embroidery patch for a jacket or shirt, a challenge coin, and
a lapel pin. After discussion, Compatriot Hamilton was requested to revise the
proposed draft challenge coin and provide two new versions incorporating the
comments made at this meeting. The intent is then to discuss the proposed options
briefly at the April meeting and select a preferred logo. Following selection of the new
Chapter logo, the Chapter would select a challenge coin design and vote on a proposal
authorizing production of challenge coins and other articles displaying the logo.
XI. The meeting was adjourned after a proper motion and second.
XII. The closing Benediction was given by Chaplain Bob Wehr, and the SAR Closing
Admonition was led by Sergeant-at-Arms Dan Hamilton.
XIII. Next chapter meeting - April 11, 2020 at the usual time and location
Attendance:
13 chapter members, 1 guest member, and 3 prospective members
Respectfully Submitted,
David Friels, Secretary
